Of course, you understand that Gargamel is actually a metaphor. A symbol of a culture so numbed to the consequences of consumption it would annihilate an entire species for a midnight snack. A man so bored with life that he creates enemies simply so they can either invigorate or destroy him. It does not matter which. Gargamel is late stage capitalism, reflected back to us in a broken mirror. He allows us to despise what we have become, without recognizing it as ourselves.
